HRM, what is it and should I have one?
Human Resource Management, or HRM for short, is nothing new. In fact, not everyone will recognize the human resource jargon, so we will clarify it for your. For starters, HRM is synonymous with human resource information system (HRIS), human resource management system (HRMS), and human resource software (HRS); to name a few.
Transitioning from a paper process to an electronic, or cloud-based, product is the wave of the future. Many will argue that the wave has already come, just look at the number of human resource systems that on the market. Well, that is true, but go to any grocery and you will notice quite the assortment of products down the bread isle. Regardless of the number of systems on the market, many behavioral healthcare providers such as drug and alcohol treatment centers, detoxification centers, outpatient clinics, opioid treatment providers (OTP), residential treatment centers, mental health centers, and rural hospitals have still not caught the wave. This wave is similar to the electronic medical record (EMR) wave for behavioral healthcare providers, which is probably about five years old. Many systems existed, but their design was clunky and outdated. We are seeing a similar trend in the HRM space.
There are many different processes that a human resource management system can assist providers with.
